As a small business in the big world of home design, we pride ourselves in aspiring to make quilts that reflect our passion and playful aesthetic. Our quilts are designed for those customers looking for a fresh and innovative design to complement their individual tastes.
Jennifer Jenkins, doubleJdesigns' founder, came by her entrepreneurial spirit and love affair with fabric naturally. Her grandmother founded and ran her own fabric shop in Kingsville, Texas from 1954 to 1966. As Jennifer's mother grew up in and around the store she couldn’t help but create. This love for making, creating, piecing and composing has been passed along, updated and altered through the generations.
During her graduate studies at the Savannah College of Art & Design, Jennifer interned with nationally renowned quilt designer, Denyse Schmidt, where she learned the essentials of running a design business. After completing a series of quilt commissions for the Savannah College of Art & Design and receiving her MFA in Fibers, Jennifer founded doubleJdesigns. Her funky and minimal approach sets her apart as one of the finest and original young quilters today.
